Ashcon 2005

Yesterday was Wishbone Ash's 35th
Anniversary Ashcon event. Held at Mansfield
Leisure Centre I attended both the day event and
the evening live concert. Local band Seretone joined Wishbone Ash
and provided a set in the afternoon. The evening
concert was awesome and I managed to film most
of the concert. When I get around to editing the
footage I may post a couple of minutes in the
videos section of this site for you to watch.
MAC Expo 2005 (London)

Back down to London again today, this time for the
MAC Expo. Although I enjoyed
the day I was a little disappointed by what was
on show.
Having only spent the morning at the Expo we decided to check out London's Apple Store. I was very impressed and spent most of the afternoon there. I purchased a case for my ipod nano and an iSight.
More Linux Training

Not much to say this week apart from I was back in
London doing the next part of my training towards
becoming a Novell Certified Linux professional.
Believe it or not I've actually spent more days in
London during 2005 than I have in my local town of
Mansfield!
Linux World Expo 2005

The main event this week was spending 2 days
(Wed/Thu) looking around the stands and attending the
varying speeches at this years UK Linux Expo. The venue was
Londons Olympia. What really shocked me was just
how down and anti-Microsoft the majority of
Linux users are. I totally agree with them on
the most part but you have to think what they
could achieve if they redirected all this
negative energy they have towards everything
Microsoft and used it to towards making Linux
and Open Source more accessible to the masses. I
personally think they need to get over it and
really push this great product in the market
place to everyone and start to listen to what
ordinary users want and need.
