Almost back up and running

So I got my replacement drive back from Iomega today, missing the data. However I'm not quite ready to start working on my next video post just yet. Basically last weekend I decided to upgrade to one of the new Intel iMacs, and it rocks. However Apple have made it so that none of their pro applications work on the new Intel macs under Rosetta. So therefore I may have this new speed machine but I can't run my main editing package until Apple make the cross grade available for Final Cut Express HD.The Final Cut Pro cross grade is scheduled for March 2006 so I'm hoping the Express version will also be available soon.

Hard disk problems: Update

I finally received the replacement power supply from Iomega but unfortunately this didn't fix the problem. So I've now posted back the whole unit and they have agreed to ship me a replacement as soon as they take delivery of my faulty unit. Not sure how long this will take but it looks like it's going to be another week or so before I can finish off editing my current videos and get them ready to post.

While you are waiting for my new posts why not check out my previous posts using the archives or take a look through the video and photo archives?

Video Ipod

Video iPod

I've been hanging my nose over one of these since they were released, just a week or so after I'd purchased my nano. Then today we visited Meadowhall in Sheffield and guess what? There is now an Apple Store there so I was convinced to purchase the Video iPod. It is great and hopefully will help me use my time better. I can now watch those many Video Podcasts I subscribe to whilst on my lunch break at work, whilst traveling and just about anywhere. having only played around with it for a few minutes so far I'm very impressed with the quality and just how watch-able the small screen is. My only concern is that all the video podcasts I subscribe to use codecs which are compatible and will play back ok on the video ipod.
